This is a question that I've been thinking about quite a lot,
whilst working on our games to communicate climate change.
Defra got Futerra to put together a set of recommendations on
successful communication of climate change:

version on Futerra site]
[longer
version on Defra site]
But if you have a short amount of time to explain climate change
to someone, should you, for example, try and give them a broad
overview of the entire issue, from personal emissions up to global
negotiations, via scientific links between emissions and
temperature change? Or should you focus in on the personal aspects,
such as behavioural change etc?
And, as Jo asks, how do you make it fun, engaging and
aspirational, rather than depressing and pessimistic?
I was impressed by Nick Stern, who seems fairly optimistic about
climate change, which is encouraging. I think the more figures in
the public eye speak positively and encourage action now, the
better.
Well, this certainly isn't an answer to Jo's question, but I'm
interested in discussing it further, if anyone has comments.
Cheers,
Hannah
